No amount of 'training' is going to take away the fact that you're using a tiny analog stick to aim, as opposed to super precise 5600dpi mice - for FPS it's always going to suck, but if you're playing solo, I guess that might not matter, especially in story mode.

The best experience that I get is when I play GTA - I use kb+m on foot and pick up the controller when entering the car. I got round to it in about 2-3 days as well - for some games - fighting, racing, platforms, it's superior, but for FPS it's always going to suck. However, there is something a bit more enjoyable and casual feeling knowing that you don't have to be so twitchy at the controls as you would with KB/Mouse, but perhaps I'm a rare exception in that I feel less stress on a console playing. Stick with it and it'll get better, just don't expect to ever have quite the same control that you would with a KB and mouse. After a few days you'll slowly stop feeling like you're trying to turn while covered in a wet blanket and get a stronger hold of things. You'll notice you line up your shots differently and will soon start to get a more solid feel for it all. Someone else nailed it on the head when they mentioned that you must think of it as a different play style altogether, and to remember that anyone else that you're competing with online also is using the same gamepad as you.

For certain actions games (Super Meat Boy, Street Fighter, etc) I found the controller instantly easier to use than KB/Mouse, and most other games (I'm thinking of third person action games in particularly here) don't take too long to adjust to the switch from one to the other.īut FPS games are far and beyond the most difficult to adjust to.
